Its limits, ads, server locations and what its privacy policy says it logs — every fact sourced and dated." url: "https://serpproxies.com/web-proxy/vpnbook" --- Web proxy review # VPNBook Review What VPNBook costs, what it limits, where its servers are and what its privacy policy says it keeps — from its own site, every fact linked to its source. Prices and policies checked October 12, 2026 [Try a residential proxy free](https://app.serpproxies.com/sign-up?product=residential) [VPNBook vs a residential proxy](#comparison) The short answer VPNBook's web proxy is free, needs no account, says it has no bandwidth limit, and lets you pick a US, UK or Canada server. It's paid for by ads managed by Playwire, it logs your IP address and connection time (deleted weekly or daily — the site says both), and there's no standalone privacy policy or named company behind it. Cost Free, no account; ad- and donation-funded [\[1\]](#source-1) Server locations US, UK, Canada (or Random) [\[2\]](#source-2) Free-tier limits "No bandwidth limit"; no time cap published [\[3\]](#source-3) Ads Yes, managed by Playwire LLC [\[1\]](#source-1) Logging IP address and connection time; deleted weekly or daily (both stated) [\[1\]](#source-1) Run by No company named; "Located in Zurich, Switzerland" [\[1\]](#source-1) About VPNBook ## VPNBook, on the record Facts from their own site and policies — no review-site hearsay. Each one is linked to its source. ### What VPNBook does well - Free with no signup, and says it has "no account, no trial, and no bandwidth limit". [\[3\]](#source-3) - Three named server locations — US, UK and Canada — plus a Random option. [\[2\]](#source-2) - The connection to the proxy is SSL-encrypted. [\[2\]](#source-2) - Spells out what does and doesn't work on Instagram, including that its mobile site doesn't load properly yet. [\[7\]](#source-7) - The same site offers free OpenVPN, WireGuard, PPTP and Outline servers if you need a whole device covered. [\[8\]](#source-8) ### Where VPNBook is limited - Ad-supported, with ads managed by Playwire LLC, which may collect aggregated, anonymized data from visits. [\[1\]](#source-1) - Logs "the IP address and time the connection was made", and gives two retention periods: deleted "every week" on one page, "every day" on another. [\[9\]](#source-9) - No standalone privacy policy or terms: the footer's "About" and "Privacy Policy" links both go to the contact page. [\[1\]](#source-1) - Instagram's mobile site "doesn't load properly through the proxy yet", and apps can't use a web proxy at all. [\[7\]](#source-7) - For personal use only — business use requires contacting them. [\[1\]](#source-1) Side by side ## VPNBook vs a residential proxy Not the same product, so no row is scored. VPNBook says its proxy is "100% free with no account, no trial, and no bandwidth limit". Ads on the site and donations pay for it. The connection between you and the proxy is SSL-encrypted, and its privacy text says it logs your IP address and connection time. VPNBook's own advice is to "Avoid logging in to sensitive accounts through any web proxy". Yes. It runs a dedicated YouTube proxy page and says you can watch "videos, Shorts, and YouTube Music" through it. In December 2025 it said its proxy servers were upgraded "to better support YouTube and social media websites". Its privacy text says "The only thing we log is the IP address and time the connection was made." One page says those logs are deleted weekly and another says daily. The server picker offers Random, US, UK and Canada. The site doesn't name a company. It says only that VPNBook is "Located in Zurich, Switzerland" and gives contact@vpnbook.com as its contact.
