Prices and policies checked October 12, 2026 [Try a residential proxy free](https://app.serpproxies.com/sign-up?product=residential) [BlockAway vs a residential proxy](#comparison) Before you use BlockAway ## BlockAway runs on the same setup as CroxyProxy - BlockAway's "Get premium access" and "Premium" buttons link to CroxyProxy's Patreon page. [\[1\]](#source-1) - Both sites' footers show the same server IP, and both pages load the same Google Analytics ID. [\[1\]](#source-1) - BlockAway's privacy policy matches CroxyProxy's word for word, apart from the brand name. [\[2\]](#source-2) - Neither site states a relationship between the two or names who runs it. [\[3\]](#source-3) The short answer BlockAway is a free, ad-supported web proxy aimed at school, university and work networks, with Europe and USA servers and claimed YouTube support. It runs on the same setup as CroxyProxy — same premium plan, same server IP, same privacy policy — which means the same logging: IP address, ISP and timestamps kept up to 60 days. Neither site says who runs it. Cost Free with ads; premium links to CroxyProxy's $3.50/month Patreon [\[4\]](#source-4) Server locations "Europe and USA"; no countries named [\[1\]](#source-1) Free-tier limits No time cap published; large files cut off on free [\[3\]](#source-3) Ads Yes on free; ad networks receive your IP [\[5\]](#source-5) Logging IP, browser, ISP and timestamps, kept up to 60 days [\[5\]](#source-5) Run by Not published [\[3\]](#source-3) About BlockAway ## BlockAway, on the record Facts from their own site and policies — no review-site hearsay. Each one is linked to its source. ### What BlockAway does well - The basic version is free: "a free service available to everyone". [\[1\]](#source-1) - Europe and USA server options. [\[1\]](#source-1) - Claims "Unlimited video access on YouTube and other video websites and social networks". [\[1\]](#source-1) - No browser or operating system configuration needed, and proxied pages can be shared by link. [\[1\]](#source-1) ### Where BlockAway is limited - The free version shows ads, and third-party ad networks receive your IP address. [\[5\]](#source-5) - Logs IP address, browser type, ISP and timestamps, kept up to 60 days for law-enforcement inquiries. [\[5\]](#source-5) - "Files larger than a specified size are automatically cut off" on the free version. [\[3\]](#source-3) - "We do not guarantee our service will be fully anonymous", and it doesn't guarantee every site works. [\[3\]](#source-3) - No operator or country is published, and premium is sold on another brand's (CroxyProxy's) Patreon. [\[1\]](#source-1) Side by side ## BlockAway vs a residential proxy Not the same product, so no row is scored. BlockAway says "the basic version is free of charge". Its premium button leads to CroxyProxy's Patreon, where ad-free access costs $3.50 a month. Its privacy policy says it logs IP addresses, browser type, ISP and timestamps and keeps them for up to 60 days for law-enforcement inquiries. Its terms say "we do not guarantee our service will be fully anonymous", and ad networks on the site receive your IP address. Don't log in to sensitive accounts through it. BlockAway says it lets you "watch YouTube videos and use social networks" with "unlimited video access". Its terms add that it doesn't guarantee every website will work correctly. BlockAway doesn't say so. But its premium links go to CroxyProxy's Patreon, its privacy policy and terms match CroxyProxy's word for word, and both sites show the same server IP in their footers. BlockAway lists "Europe and USA proxy server options" without naming countries. Choosing a server is a premium feature, and the linked premium plan names Germany, the UK, Spain, the USA, Canada and Israel. BlockAway doesn't name a company or country on its home page, terms or privacy policy.
